Confidentiality 


Privacy Policy
The relationship and communications between therapist and client are protected by law. Any information discussed in therapy cannot be disclosed to third parties without the client’s written permission.
However, there are some exceptional circumstances under which therapists are required to disclose privileged and confidential information:
  • By order of a judge
  • When the client presents a clear and present danger to themselves and refuses to accept appropriate treatment
  • When the client communicates to the therapist a credible threat of violence against a clearly identified or reasonably identifiable victim
  • When the client introduces their mental state as evidence in legal proceeding
  • When the therapist has reason to believe a child under the age of 18, an elderly person over the age of 60, or a handicapped adult has been or is presently at risk of being abused or neglected
  • The client initiates legal action against the therapist
